We Are Intended to Thrive…Not Just Survive!

These verses are a picture of Jesus (and of us) spoken by Isaiah. Remember as you read that we too are to be like Jesus. Hear what the Word has to say regarding Jesus, Isaiah and the spirit of God in Him. These words also paint a picture of who we are to be for others:

Isaiah 61:1-3 (NIV) 1  The Spirit of the Sovereign LORD is on me, because the LORD has anointed me to preach good news to the poor. He has sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim freedom for the captives and release from darkness for the prisoners, 2  to proclaim the year of the LORD’s favor and the day of vengeance of our God, to comfort all who mourn, 3  and provide for those who grieve in Zion — to bestow on them a crown of beauty instead of ashes, the oil of gladness instead of mourning, and a garment of praise instead of a spirit of despair. They will be called oaks of righteousness, a planting of the LORD for the display of his splendor.

What a glorious picture of healing and hope…here on earth and in heaven. What a wonderful picture of Jesus’ ongoing healing, comfort and release.

What an exciting thought that we are to be oaks of righteousness. Because of His great love, we are becoming stronger as our faith becomes stronger through the blessings of our God through adversity. In each new challenge, we find new strength. Like the strength of a beautiful tree, we will withstand great storms.

We are meant to thrive…not just survive!

Because of His love and wisdom and strength…we are becoming more and more a life of beauty…a picture of hope for those around us and… then…bringing glory to His name!
