Tomorrow our granddaughter is getting married to a young man who loves her immensely and she him. The quality of their love reminds me some of the love of my husband and I (her grandparents!). I can only imagine what that love will look like in years to come!!
They enjoy the same sense of humor…they both desire to please the other, want to build a solid marriage…eventually a family. They want to please God. They both love and gravitate to little children..they enjoy nature…creating their new home together and (one of the most fun things to see) they share the same zany sense of humor!
What a joy to see our Ashley marry a man who shares so much common ground and loves her so well. How thankful we are that they both have a relationship with our God
They have dated almost five years now, I think?? It has been a good long time with lots of fun and like anyone…some really hard bumps in the road. Yet…they they have both been willing to work through those bumps!
We are excited for them…elated really, and we pray for the blessings of God all over their lives!
Here is one of the things we pray for them. I encourage you to pray it for the ones you love!
Ephesians 1:17-20 (NIV) 17 I keep asking that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the glorious Father, may give you the Spirit of wisdom and revelation, so that you may know him better. 18 I pray also that the eyes of your heart may be enlightened in order that you may know the hope to which he has called you, the riches of his glorious inheritance in the saints, 19 and his incomparably great power for us who believe. That power is like the working of his mighty strength, 20 which he exerted in Christ when he raised him from the dead and seated him at his right hand in the heavenly realms..
Ashley and Joshua, we continue to pray for the power of our God in your lives…the same power that raised Jesus from the dead. As I always say to you, that is a lot of power!
God has promised to strengthen you for all things and He has promised to teach you more about how to love each other better and better through the years.
How thankful we are that on every road…including the new road you are now on…He loves us and is right by our side. As we choose to listen and obey, he is ever teaching…encouraging and moving us on to a deeper and more wonderful relationship!!
Thanks to Him… (as you would say, Ashley Kaye) your new life is a win win!!
WE LOVE YOU!!
